President’s Message
Tony LaMarre
Houle’s Plumbing. & Heating, Waterville, Maine
Hello Members!
Welcome to a new year of the Maine Plumbing,Heating and Cooling Contractors (PHCC) Association. This is my first message as your
new president. I would like to tell you a little bit about myself and how I
ended up in this role. I, like everyone else who runs a contracting company, have about a million and one excuses as to why I didn’t get involved with the PHCC of Maine. Also like many of you, I have school-aged children who are
involved with numerous sports and extracurricular activities. Last summer, I was fortunate enough to win the raffle that subsidized attendance to the National Association Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. Despite a busy life, I was somehow able to fit in the trip. I was also able to convince my wife to come along with me and found family to take care of our children while we were away.
In Las Vegas we attached the ISH, North American Trade Show and several
seminars. We also met with fellow members for dinner and had a wonderful time. All of this was possible because of the PHCC of Maine. Being a part of this association allowed me the opportunity to share your story with other
members from across the country and to hear their stories.
Our issues and concerns were familiar. Together we can learn and
develop friendships that can last a lifetime. We are fortunate in Maine to
be a part of the PHCC industry. When you listen to the news about factory closings and job losses, you realize mechanical equipment and systems still need to be serviced, repaired, replaced or upgraded.
Regardless of what the economy throws us, we will still have many business opportunities. Because PHCC is such a great industry and because being part of an Association can help you to grow and feel a sense of belonging, I agreed to become your president. I feel that together we can make our industry even stronger.
I look forward to working with current members, and growing our Association so that we can make an even bigger impact in our government, education, business skills and personal satisfaction. I speak from my own personal experience: if you can get involved with the PHCC Association, the
rewards will be worth it.
